Since 2013, we’ve launched nearly one-hundred email campaigns, and today we’re going to talk about the best campaign that we’ve launched since – how did we do it?
We’ve done email campaigns from behind-the-scenes, FAQs, client videos, final products, surveys, event videos, and more. Through MailChimp, we are able to do this simply and efficiently – and we are able to gauge audience interaction. Typically, whenever a video ad agency or video agency sends out an email campaign, you’d see a general open average of 22% opens and a click-through rate of 3%. The email campaign I’m going to share with you today blew those averages out of the water… and it was surprisingly simple. Garnering a 26% open rate and an 8% click-through rate, this email campaign broke all of our previous records. With a recipient body of over 9,000 people, those numbers are huge. So let’s dive into it and figure out how we launched such a successful email campaign – and how you can do it too.
What You See
First thing you see is this – our subject line is a fun, quirky statement with an emoji thrown in there. In an inbox full of words and names and organizations, an emoji is going to stand out like a patriots fan. Click on it and you’ll first be greeted by a nice, clean, white background. It’s sleek, it’s refreshing, and it’s satisfying to look at, and it also mirrors the brand of digital marketing we employ on our website. We have a short, simple, spunky description of the camera flex, using catchy language to keep our audience interested. After that, you see a really cool thumbnail of our camera. We understand that a majority of our audience of these email campaigns are chief marketing officers, social media managers, and CEOs of multi-million dollar companies – they really resonate with this because there is a deep-set draw to digital media marketing content. So having a really cool video to describe the gear we use was a sure shot to capture a high engagement.
We didn’t expect to see such strong results, in honesty. The really exciting part about the success of our Email Campaign, the part that matters most, is that we had over 1200 people visit our website and over 600 people click to schedule a meeting. That is huge! Ultimately, you want people not only interested in your brand, but also to inquire about your products and services because your job is to solve their problems. As a video agency, we solve the problem of creating great content to showcase our clients’ services and products.
How You Can Do This Too
Whatever product or instrument tool that you might use to help people out what is flashing, what is exciting, what is interesting – make a video about it and send it out in an email campaign. For example, you may be a manufacturing facility like 3M or Graco or PWC – all past clients of ours. They make amazing products. They also might have dope laser-jet machines, which I guarantee you are as cool as they sound. People want to see the buttons, the parts, the people behind it, and especially a tutorial of it cutting through ten-gauge steel. Those snippets of authenticity and insider’s point of views show us that you are credible and reputable, professional and experienced. You can be a smaller company, but by no means do you have small results or small credentials.
